ISIS = Wahabism?
WAHABISM A word you may not have heard of before. Wahabism or Whabi Islam is a sect or a cult who's beliefs difer from those of the Sunni or Shi'ahs. Wahabi Islam has been variously described as "orthodox", "ultraconservative", "austere", "fundamentalist", "puritanical" (or "puritan") and as an Islamic "reform movement" to restore "pure monotheistic worship" (tawhid), by scholars and advocates around the world.
Many have described the followers as "sold souls". In other words, the followers are paid to follow the ultraconservative version or interpretation of the Quran.
There have been claims that the followers are paid to join the cult. Then, they sit and wait for instruction from the leaders. Wahabis don't consider other Muslims as Muslims. They label them as polytheists or disbelievers, just like the Zionists label moderate Jews as disbelievers.
It is unethical to criticize all of Islam on the basis of doctrines particular to Wahabi Muslims. Modern Islamic extremism and terrorism cannot be explained or understood without looking at the history and influence of Wahhabi Islam. This means that it's important from an ethical and an academic perspective to understand what Wahhabi Islam teaches, what's so dangerous about it, and why their teachins are sodiferent from other branches of Islam.

You can compare this cult more closely to Westboro Baptist, the KKK, Zionists or other ultra Catholics. The only major diference is the name of their God.
Take a look at verses from the Bible and the Quran and you will see that even the new testaments show verses that potentially inspire violence.

Zechariah 13:3 NAB- If a man still prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall say to him, "You shall not live, because you have spoken a lie in the name of the Lord."

The Quran
Surah Al-Baqarah- O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you] of interest, if you should be believers. And if you do not, then be informed of a war [against you] from Allah and His Messenger. But if you repent, you may have your principal - [thus] you do no wrong, nor are you wronged.
Surat Al Maida- "Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment," Quran 5:33
**However, these books are also the epitome of how to live a good life. The verses above need to be clarified to others, unfamiliar with the terms.
Speaking to people from both religions, I learned that the verses tend to be misinterpreted by radicalists. One man said "The terrorists have a very simplistic mind to interpret the holy book. They saw it as killing, bombing, etc. We the good people interpret it as "not afraid to fight for your right, don't just sit around doing nothing, have some careness to fix the wrongness around you, etc." Islam teaches peace and courage. Courage, in a positive way of course. It's a religion, same as Christianity, so it must teach good things. If some religious people do bad things, it's always their fault. Intellegence is your weapon, try to use it. Don't think like the terrorists, when hatred blinds your rationality."
